How to Create a Resume
Almost every adult has faced the need to create a resume. A resume can be compared with your professional avatar. This is how you describe your education, experience, professional skills, and achievements.
A resume is designed to describe you as a professional to your future employer in the most attractive way to distinguish you from other candidates. Your resume is a business document. Don't confuse it with an autobiography in which you need to describe your whole life.
The History of Resumes
Authorship of the first possible resume is attributed to Leonardo Da Vinci. In 1482 the master wanted to get a job with Duke Ludovico Sforza and sent him a letter describing all his talents. Da Vinci got the job.
For a long time the use of resumes was not popular due to the peculiarities of the labor market as a whole. People worked in one place for decades. Jobs were often found in a person's specific neighborhood or individuals simply inherited a family profession or business. Changing jobs was an infrequent event, so there was no need for a resume.
